TheFreelanceForum.com - Alive
Lo and behold, I’ve opened the site! There are still some kinks to iron out but on the whole it’s had a really good response. At the time of this post we’re currently at 40 users and roughly 300 posts, but hoping to grow way beyond that in the coming weeks.
I like to think that it’s a forum without a gimmick, but in reality the true gimmick is that we’re a “no bullshit” community. We don’t need a marketplace to get users, and we don’t need childish features to become popular. It’s based around good discussion with like minded individuals and professionals.

Business Card design for a buddy of mine Gareth, from HostedFx.com. He loved it, so do I.
What do YOU want?
in a hosting company?
Sure, sure you’ve been asked this question time and time and time again, but really…what do you really want from a hosting company? Could it be both UK and US based servers to give you and your overseas friend a choice in where they’d like their websites based? Could it be a custom control panel, or even a basic control panel that you can customize?
Anything, and everything you want from a hosting company…please let me know. Consider this stage 1 of market research….appealing to a general audience.
Cheers!
Breaks…and why you need them.
Since last sunday night (22nd June), I’ve more or less worked right through pulling off unbelievable 18 hour design shifts, clearing stupidly large amounts of client work and really digging deep as far as patience, energy and charisma goes…suffice to say that on thursday night I crashed and couldn’t keep it up; thus I decided to take today easy and not touch the computer (I went and treated myself to a THX surround sound speaker system for my room/studio and Time Crisis 4 with the G-Con gun for the PS3….amazing early birthday present from me to me!).
It’s now 2:31am Saturday morning (28th June). I feel great, despite being wired on coming up to 8 tins of Red Bull, I’m really ready to get stuck back into design for the up coming week (despite my birthday being on the 2nd of July, wednesday…PM me for my paypal address for gifts! just kidding).
I really can’t stress enough the importance of taking a days rest every now and again, when you do absolutely nothing but think and care for number 1 (that’s you, ya big dummy!).
Just think about it….how hard do you actually work?
Perspective…a good thing?
For the last few days (since Monday) I’ve been in full speed work mode, tackling large projects, small projects and all sorts of little menial tasks that used to annoy me and have been doing so very quickly, efficiently and to a very high standard, while making a healthy living.
One thing that worries me is, is it possible to slip…
Of course it is, but how can I stop myself slipping and how can you stop yourself slipping? I find that blogging about my projects, what I’m doing on a daily basis a great way to clear your mind, get your thoughts out there, and get ready for a whole new influx of more.
Twitter is a valuable resource for this too, as you can post things real time, respond, discuss and be nosey at what others are doing.
Just some food for thought, get some perspective…but not too much ![]()
